2007 Boat Show hailed a success
For the second year running we once again had the sun beating
down on the beautiful Welsh country side, Margam
Park again hosted the South
Wales Boat Show, the biggest boat show in the
Welsh boat show calender. On the 15-17th
June which saw thousands of visitors descend
on Margam Park, near Port Talbot for the boat show which was
held over three days. A range of attractions were offered throughout
the weekend including a fairground, hovercraft rides, a shipwreck
on Aberavon beach for the kids with a play area and huge sandpit,
a multitude of chandlery stalls and over 300 craft from major
and local manufacturers on display. Over 1,000 people enjoyed
rides on the Margam Park lake aboard jet ski's, zapcats and
other craft, ALL TOTALLY FREE OF CHARGE.
Exhibitor attendance for the South Wales boat show was impressive
for the second year of Wales's premier boat show with a 5500sq
ft marquee providing a carpeted sales area for over 30 exhibitors
and on the grounds of Margam park over 185 exhibitors collectively
displayed over 300 craft. During the boat show weekend the exhibitors
collectively sold over £2,200,000 of boats, equipment
and services. Cardiff Bay boat sales recorded the biggest
individual sale of the South Wales boat show with a £180,000
Sealine powerboat and several more confirmed orders.
The success of the biggest Welsh boat show didn't stop there
either; Cambrian again sold over 6 craft. Generally all exhibitors
reported excellent sales and many took confirmed orders for
craft at the show. The end result meaning that many have already
booked sales space for the 2008 show and have increased the
size of their stands following the resounding success of this
2007 show.
